Sleep Test

Take the Epworth Sleepiness Test at Home

The Epworth Sleepiness Test (invented in Australia) is a first measure of how sleepy a person is during the day, and hence a measure of the possibility a person snores or lives with a snorer, and is suffering from sleep deprivation.  Score each activity for your doziness factor using the scale below and then total it all up.

0 =   Would Never Doze
1 =   Slight Chance of Dozing
2 =   Moderate Chance of Dozing
3 =   High Chance of Dozing

Activity

Score
Sitting
Watching TV
Sitting inactive in a public place (movie, meeting)
As a passenger in a car for an hour (without break)
Lying down to rest in the afternoon
Sitting and talking to someone
Sitting quietly after lunch without alcohol
In a car, while stopped for a few minutes
TOTAL SCORE

If your TOTAL SCORE is 9 or above then chances are you’re a sleep-deprived snorer or snoree – see a doctor or a marriage counselor.

If you fall asleep during any of the following activities, it is NOT an indication of anything wrong – it’s normal – do not mistake it for apnea, snoring or sleep deprivation.
